It’s been some time since CBD oil has entered the limelight and it seems like everyone from your best friend in high school to your therapist is recommending it.
While it is true that CBD oil has tremendously helped a large number of people struggling with problems such as anxiety, pain, and even cancer, the evidence is mostly anecdotal.
On top of that, it seems like there is no dearth of CBD brands nowadays on the net and even your corner dispensary.
It’s hard to separate the best from the rest, which is why I conducted a poll in which 2000 people participated from our email subscriber to talk about their favorite brands.
I also did a fair amount of digging around on Reddit and compared them to my experiences to create this list of the top 10 best CBD oils for pain you can buy right now.
Note: If your favorite brand is not here, please email us. We will check out the brand and add to the future polls.
But first, let’s talk about the primary factors you keep an eye out for, while selecting a brand.
Most CBD oil brands usually have their products tested by independent third-party laboratories to bring an added level of transparency and trustworthiness to the brand.
As a consumer, it does make you feel much more relieved knowing that your oil is safe for consumption. These third-party labs usually publicly release their results, so customers can actually check them out to see if everything is as promised.
Just make sure the tests were conducted recently.
CBD oil comes in a number of concentrations usually starting from 300mg and going up to 5000 mg or more. For pain, a higher dose is usually preferred. But if you’ve never taken CBD oil before or if you’ve been off it for a long while, it’s best to start with the smallest possible dose and gradually move up.
You need to know exactly what it is you’re putting into your body. The best products don’t only have the ingredients listed out, they also list out the nutritional value of all the ingredients. The detail to look out for here is whether they are full spectrum or isolate.
Full spectrum CBD Oil has a small percentage of other cannabinoids and terpenes as well. For overall therapeutic usage, I would definitely suggest full spectrum although some people might find they react better to isolates – which are 100% CBD and no THC, terpenes, cannabinoids, etc.
Some brands even have their own herbs and tea extracts along with CBD, which further enhances pain relief. My point is if the amount of detail on the packaging seems lacking in any way, it’s best to consider a different product instead.

The best CBD Oils for pain
These rankings were compiled based on votes from a poll we hosted on our email subscribers list, asking people what CBD brands they prefer most.
1. FAB CBD
Based out of Colorado, FAB CBD, officially called FAB Nutrition ranks number 1 on our list of best CBD oils for chronic pain. Their CBD oil tinctures come in 3 different flavors – citrus, mint and natural.
FAB CBD comes in 4 different concentrations, 150 mg, 300 mg, 600 mg, and 1200 mg. The bottle size is one ounce -30ml.
The CBD oil tincture is made from full-spectrum CBD, which also contains trace amounts of THC (0.3%).
Third Party Testing
All of their products are tested and certified by an independent lab that is rated according to ISO 17025:2005 standards. For their case, Fab sends its products to ProVerde Labs in Massachusetts, which is a well-known lab in the CBD Industry.
Location of Hemp Farm
The hemp is cultivated locally in Colorado itself.
It wasn’t the first time I had heard of FAB CBD. I had heard the name being thrown around by my friends when we were talking about the CBD industry in Colorado.
However, it wasn’t until my friend tried it himself and told me about it, that I asked him to let me have a go at it as well. So I was at my friend’s place, it was about 9 in the morning when he took out his bottle. It was the mint flavored one of the 1200 mg variety.
Now, 1200 mg is a pretty strong dose, and since I’m no stranger to CBD, I thought I would give it a go. My back pain had been acting up recently, and I had already taken a break from work. It’s these problems that led me to CBD in the first place.
After the first dose, me and my friend were watching a movie when I suddenly realized that my back pain had disappeared and my anxiety had gone down as well. But not long after thinking that, it started to come back. I guess I must have jinxed it.
However, after the second dose in the afternoon, my back pain was gone entirely, and I felt absolutely at ease with myself. It had been a long time since CBD had such an effect on me, and I was feeling great.
FAB CBD is definitely worth the money, even though it’s a little on the pricier side. But as far as pain removal goes, it has my whole-hearted approval.
2. Nuleaf Naturals
Nuleaf Naturals was founded in 2014 with a simple goal of having a small product range but keeping things as natural as possible. The farms in Colorado don’t employ any pesticides or herbicides whatsoever.
Nuleaf CBD oil strength ranges from 240 mg to a whopping 4850 mg.
They use whole-plant extracts and not synthetics or isolates. This means that apart from the CBD, you’ll also have other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBC, CBDA, and CBDV. THC is present in a negligible amount at 0.3%.
Third Party Testing
They get all their products tested in a lab located in Steep Hill of Berkeley, California. This testing ensures every bottle maintains a uniform potency, and it also checks for a large number of herbicides, pesticides, fungi, mold, mycotoxins, etc.
Nuleaf Naturals will give you the lab results if you ask for them.
The organic hemp farms are USDA certified and located in Colorado.
I weaned myself off all of my other CBD medications for two weeks so I could try out this product and see what it was like. By the end of those two weeks, I was dying for something to take my pain away and to calm my brain down, which was doing a million miles per hour.
I wanted to start off slow, so I only took two drops of the 1450 mg variant under my tongue and left for work. I’ll admit I was feeling slightly buzzed by the time I got to work.
It wasn’t a THC buzz, it was more like I was content and floating on air. This buzz, however, didn’t intensify, and I was able to ground myself in my reality soon enough. Let me say again, this wasn’t the paranoid kind of high, rather a very clean and anxiety-free buzz.
I also totally forgot about the shoulder pain all day until I got back home from work.
It’s a great brand but be warned that the first time you consume this oil, you might feel a little out of it. However, that feeling will go away from day 2 onwards and will probably never come to pass anyway, if you don’t get a very high dose.
CBDistillery, another Colorado native has a motto of research, education, and testimonials. They want to bring knowledge and transparency to the masses and educate everyone on the possible benefits of CBD in their daily lives.
They have oil tincture bottles with strengths ranging from 150 mg to 5000 mg
They have both full Spectrum Oil and CBD isolate (pure CBD oil). Thus, for the ones who feel buzzed upon consumption of full-spectrum oils, this is a good option.
Third Party Testing
All of their products get tested by ProVerde Laboratories. You can find the test results of each product in that particular product webpage.
The hemp is farmed locally in Colorado, USA
CBDistillery was one of the first CBD brands I ever tried. I remember at that point, my anxiety and pain were so bad I was staying as far away from THC as possible.
I remember reading online that some people had adverse reactions on the full spectrum of CBD oil, and some had even experienced panic attacks. So I got myself the CBD isolate 1000 mg version which has no THC.
What followed was one of the smoothest and clear-headed ‘trips’ I had. I walked into work feeling oh-so-relaxed, and I was able to really get into the groove of my work.
People say that relaxation comes at the cost of sedation, but at that moment, I definitely felt I could focus better simply because all the nagging voices in my head died away.
A great brand, with a whole host of product choices, if you go wrong with one bottle, try buying a different product of a different concentration before you switch to other brands.
4. Joy Organics
Joy Organics was founded by Joy Smith, who just like us, had problems with chronic pain and anxiety. When other treatments didn’t suffice, she turned to CBD, and when she saw the number of disreputable brands online, she took it upon her to do something about it.
Joy Organics offers CBD Tincture oils in bottles of strengths from 250mg to 1500mg in 4 flavors – Natural, Mint, Orange, and Lemon.
It is a broad-spectrum CBD oil, which means that THC has been extracted out, but it is not a CBD isolate either. Apart from CBD, all other cannabinoids have been preserved.
Third Party Testing
Joy Organics adheres by rigid quality standards and subjects all their products to third-party testing, and you can find all the results in a page on their website dedicated solely to displaying test results.
They are farmed locally in Colorado.
Now I haven’t tried out Joy Organics myself, and I know CBD affects everyone differently, so I can’t really speak for myself. However, I do have a very reliable account from my uncle.
At 54 years old, my uncle suffers from terrible knee pain and arthritis, and sometimes, it’s a pain just to get out of bed – let alone climbing the stairs or doing the laundry.
Now, he’s got a few friends in Colorado, and one of them brought over a 500 mg bottle of CBD oil and gifted it to my uncle. The first time, my uncle took two drops of it, but he severely underestimated its potency. He slept off almost as soon as the effects started taking hold. But he did manage to sleep through the night, and that was something.
On Day 2, he took one drop instead. Within an hour, all the pain went away, and he found himself much more energetic than usual. As far as I know, he doesn’t suffer from any anxiety issues, and he said he went outside for a pleasant stroll with his dog.
He started dosing in 5-hour intervals for the first three days, On the 5th day, the pain came back for a bit, but it quickly went away with a few more drops. He said, he now takes it not every day, but whenever he really needs it.
5. Hemp bombs
Hemp bomb is another excellent brand, but it is strictly for people who prefer CBD isolates over full-spectrum products. If that’s the case, this is your mecca! It’s also significantly cheaper as compared to the other brands reviewed here.
They start from 300 mg and goes up to 4000 mg
Their hemp oil is 100% CBD with absolutely no THC.
Third Party Testing
They get their products tested by a lab called Desert Valley Testing. There is a separate page on their website with all the test results.
They used to source their weed from Europe, but it’s all based in the US now.
Being a big fan of CBD isolates, I’ve tried this one out myself. However, what I instantly felt was a wave of grogginess coming over me. I definitely think it’s got more in it than just CBD itself.
It’s a great CBD brand for removing pain, but it will make you feel sleepy. Fortunately, you won’t feel tired of having brain fog the morning after. Nor will it make you feel paranoid or anxious.
This is one of the better CBD only brands out there, and if you’re partial to CBD isolates, this is definitely a good choice.
CBDPure hits almost all the right marks – excellent customer service, good quality, money back guarantee, however, it does fall short in that it does not have any super strong bottles.
CBDPure has three concentrations from 100mg to 600mg.
They are full spectrum and feature no additives. It tastes and smells earthy, which is a good sign that no adulterants have been added.
Third Party Testing
They conduct their third-party lab tests from the renowned ProVerde laboratories.
Their hemp is grown locally in Colorado, USA.
CBDPure is just a brand I came across on the net, and I haven’t had the opportunity to try it out myself. However, I do have a friend who orders from this brand.
He has a minor case of neck pain and as far as I know, doesn’t suffer from any anxiety issues. As a result, he orders a tiny dose of 300mg, and he doesn’t even take it every day.
However, he did say that the oil worked wonders for him, especially from the third dose onward. He said that after the third dose, he felt so good, he went a whole week without any CBD products whatsoever.
If you have only minor issues and you are not exactly dependent on CBD products to keep you functioning, this could be a good way to give you the kicks you need to keep performing at your best.
7. Charlotte’s Web CBD
Charlotte’s Web is named after the little girl, Charlotte Figgi, who got cured of her epileptic seizures by a regular dosage of CBD Oil. Charlotte’s Web has come to make a reputation for itself as the BMW of the CBD oil industry.
Their products are pricey, but the quality is totally at par with the price tag.
The lowest concentration they have is 7mg CBD per mL, and the highest they have is 60mg CBD per ml. Their bottles are available in 30ml and 100ml bottles.
All of their CBD oil tinctures are full spectrum and feature the entire range of cannabinoids CBD, CBC, CBG (more than 80) and other beneficial phytocompounds and terpenes.
Third Party Lab Testing
All of Charlotte’s Web CBD oil products have been tested out more than 20 times in well-reputed labs so you can be sure there are no compromises as far as quality is concerned.
A friend of mine recently took to Charlotte’s Web after reading a lot of positive reviews on the Internet. My friend was suffering from non-stop 24/7 headaches and had recently been prescribed opioid medication for it.
I’m sure his unhealthy lifestyle had a lot to do with it, but he was dead set against the use of opioids. Members of his own family had faced problems with opioids before, and he was very reluctant to get on those pills. But he did anyway.
After a few days, he decided to take a break from the opioids but found that his body had become so dependent on them, it was impossible. This is the point where he ordered the highest strength of Charlotte’s Web CBD oil.
The pain was already mostly taken care of by the opioid medication, but there was a lingering sense of malaise and discomfort, which he just couldn’t shake.
However, he was happy to report that the CBD oil did a great job in solving his problems – at best, it made him feel completely painless and free, and at worst, it would just put him to sleep.
Charlotte’s Web is a premium brand, and the quality is as good as it gets. But it does come with a hefty price tag though, especially for the smaller bottles. But they do have a chocolate mint flavor.
8. CBD MD
CBD MD is a brand that I personally have no experience with, but a lot of our readers seem to prefer it. One look at the website and you’ll see that it is full of useful information about their various products and they do have a lot of them, including vape oils.
CBD MD has concentrations from 250mg to 5000mg.
It’s broad spectrum CBD which means it has CBD and a bunch of other cannabinoids, vitamins and amino acids but no THC.
Third Party Testing
All products are third-party tested by SC Labs, and you can find the certificate of analysis on their website.
I frankly don’t know of anyone who has used CBD MD products before, and the internet is full of conflicting opinions on whether or not it is good. However, the fact remains that it is cheap, and it is mostly THC free.
One user on Reddit says that he liked the taste as he had ordered the 300mg berry flavor. He also went on to say that his knee pain wouldn’t show up through the day and would only appear when he would lie down to go to sleep.
Normally, it would take him an hour to fall asleep, but with the CBD oil (in pretty small dosages of 300 mg), he managed to cut that time by half and fall asleep within half an hour every time.
CBD MD isn’t as popular as the other brands, but they seem to know what they’re doing. If you want to save money and this is your first time buying CBD, this isn’t that bad a choice.
9. SOL CBD
Another brand which has been around for some time (since 2015) is Sol CBD. They might not be that well known in the states, but they have a decent following in Europe.
They only have two strength variations – 300 mg and 3600 mg.
It’s your usual industry standard full-spectrum CBD oil.
Third Party Testing
They claim to have their products tested by ProVerde lab.
They mostly source industrial grade hemp from various farms in Europe. It’s worth noting quality control isn’t as strict in Europe as it is in the states.
From what I gathered online, Sol CBD is famous for its liposomal pharmacology, which basically means it starts working faster than most other CBD oils.
Users have reported feeling the effect only 10-15 minutes in when taken sublingually. The stronger dosage seems to be much more popular than the other one. Users report a clearer mind, no brain fog, and added relaxation.
A chronic sufferer of fibromyalgia reported a gradual decrease in the intensity of symptoms day by day and said that her disease did not recur during the duration she was ingesting the oil regularly.
It’s expensive, but there is a 60-day money back guarantee. In my opinion, there are more popular brands out there, but to each his own, I guess.
10. PlusCBD Oil
PlusCBD Oil is based out of San Diego, California and is a popular choice for people living on the West Coast.
They have three concentrations available – 250 mg, 750 mg, and 1500 mg. They have 1 Oz and 2 Oz sizes available.
It’s full spectrum with a variety of terpenes and cannabinoids.
Third Party Testing
They get their products tested from a third-party laboratory in San Diego itself.
San Diego, California
The CBD oils come in unflavored, peppermint and Goji Blueberry flavors. My friend tried the Blueberry one with a strength of 750 mg.
This friend of mine had long suffered from phantom back pain quite similar to mine, and although he had been visiting a physiotherapist and got his problem sorted, he still uses CBD oil sometimes just to make the process a little easier.
He reported that within 2 hours of taking the oil drops, he felt tremendously better and just took off for a 30-minute walk while he was at work. His back pain wasn’t there at all, and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders – his words!
He used it again the day after and didn’t have to use it again for the rest of the week because he was feeling so good about his health.
Plus CBD Oil might not be a crowd favorite, but it is a trustworthy and reputable company. 0
FAB CBD is definitely the best CBD oil drops available on the market today based on my survey, research, and my personal experiences. However, there are plenty of other choices which my friends vouch for just as strongly as I do for FAB CBD.
You can read all the reviews you want, but the truth is that CBD affects everyone in a different way. And you can never tell how it’s going to feel for you unless you do it yourself.
So, now that you have ten solid leads, why don’t you go ahead and try one?
