CBD helps Workout

A recent study conducted by the University of Colorado Boulder revealed that cannabis can be actually beneficial for your health!

Author Angela Bryan, a professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and the Institute for Cognitive Science said that while people stigmatize cannabis and often believe that it leads people to be lazy and couch-locked, studies show that is not the case. The professor however does not recommend people using cannabis as an alternative for exercise to maintain their health. She further added that no solid evidence has been found yet that backs up the claims of CBD.

But, she does not deny the fact that so many people have reported positive effects of cannabis and showed signs of improvement. In the study, about 600 people who used marijuana on a regular basis in California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington were asked if they consumed cannabis within one or four hours after they exercised and around 82% of the people said yes.

In addition to this, around 67% people of 345 surveyed said that they smoked marijuana both, before and after exercise. 70% said that it heightened the level of enjoyment of exercise, 78% said it boosted speedy recovery and 52% said it propelled motivation in them. But, researched say that if a person smokes weed and works out, it is imperative for the user to stick to low risk exercises.

CBD or cannabinoid is a hemp derived compound which is known for its anti-inflammatory and non-psychoactive properties. It can help reduce stress, pain, anxiety, swelling, inflammation and also decrease symptoms of severe ailments like cancer, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s. Research is still going on as to identify how the compound exactly works and if it can intervene with any other medical drug adversely. However, patients have been using CBD more efficiently rather than taking medical prescriptions without showing any signs of ill effects.

Many CBD products are infused with THC also. THC aka tetrahydro cannabinoid is basically another compound found in marijuana plants which is psychoactive in nature. THC alters the state of mind and is responsible for the ‘high’ that people get when they smoke weed. If used for a longer period of time, in high potency, THC can cause permanent mental disorders, decrease memory retention and also trigger seizures.

It is because of this compound that medical examiners and researchers do not fully endorse or market CBD products. Unless a complete study about CBD is done and results are drawn, it is less likely that it will be medically approved. Despite of this, the federal law in December 2018 passed the Farm Bill which removed hemp derived cannabinoid from the list of Controlled Substance Act.

After the federal law legalized CBD, many companies have been creating CBD infused products including beauty, lifestyle, health and edible products. From CBD infused creams, lotions, tinctures, oils to CBD beer, burger, popcorn and a ton of other food and beverages, CBD has captured the market completely.

CBD is one of the hottest ingredient in the market everyone wants to get their hands on. Whether it a business leader looking for a breakthrough product to gain traction from the business market of a consumer looking for an alternative to the less effective, medical drugs usually available at dispensaries and medical stores, every one wants to try out the new CBD.
